The Bioclar Process Technology - Description
The Bioclar process technology complies with the most demanding ecological limits. The authors of this system succeeded in achieving the maximal possible level of optimising aerobic and anaerobic processes in the wastewater treatment and concentrating them in a single vessel. There are three basic features that are typical for the BIOCLAR process technology, distinguishing this system from the traditional plants:
Exploitation of the Flock Blanket - Fluid Filter
– Simple sedimentation that is currently a standard method in separating the treated water from the activated sludge, is a slow process. It has also low efficiency and places demand on large-volume sedimentation basins. On the other hand, the fluid-filter technology is much more efficient than the simple sedimentation.
– The fluid-filter effect is used in the separating section of the biological reactor, where the activated sludge floccules slow down their movement due to the gravitational force and interactions, while increasing in volume. They create thus a flock blanket which lets he water through, trapping the smallest particles in a high-efficiency filtration process. When large enough to sediment, the floccules drop to the bottom. From there they are extracted and fed back to the starting phase of the process.
High Concentration of the Activated Sludge
Apart from other factors, the treatment efficiency can be determined by the amount of the sludge activated in the treatment process. The traditional methods yield a medium concentration of the activated sludge, since inefficient simple sedimentation does not permit its thorough separation from the clarified water. Yet by using the fluid-filter effect, the BIOCLAR process technology operates with a high-concentration active sludge, resulting in a much better clarification outcome.
Optimisation of all Process Stages and their Single-Vessel Integration
The traditional treatment process technologies use a separate vessel for each subsequent treatment stage. The BIOCLAR process technology permits integration of all the process stages into a single vessel. Special plastic tanks comprise nitrification, denitrification, and separation sections - all within a single biological reactor.
